If you haven't visited our Railway Modellers Club online community yet you're missing out. It started back in 2018 as a place to share all the content from our email newsletters and has grown into a vibrant, friendly community ever since. With over 6200 members there are modellers from all corners of the globe and of all different skill levels. Some have been modelling for 60+ years. Others are just taking up the hobby and finding their way.
Every week there are hundreds of posts covering all manner of topics… some are from members just showcasing their work, others from members that have come to a standstill with a particular aspect of building their model railway layout and need a helping hand.
Even with the warmer weather, the Club has still been incredibly active and here are a few posts from this weekend which caught our eye.
- Steve Wright posted this image of 71000 Duke of Gloucester arriving for a night stop over at Walstead Green Depot on his OO scale layout..
- More steam railway action too from joshwhite206 as 46256 arrives with the Royal Scot. 46256 waits on the centre road for the signal to depart for the sheds.
- Michael's making a start on a new N gauge signal box for his layout, Chandwell. We've loved watching this layout develop. With such fine, detailed work and most of the buildings being scratch-built it's definitely one of our favourites.
- Richard at Sandford East has been busy installing our LX007-OO Chainlink Fencing With Crank Top Posts. It's not the easiest of kits to build but it does look rather incredible when it's done. The key with this kit is to really take your time and wait for the glue to dry at each step.
- And finally, Rowan Town Model Railway asked if it was just him, or if anyone else had such a messy workspace?… hmm… I think Tina would agree that it's not just you! I'm probably the messiest person at SMS HQ… Why tidy up where there are so many things to do that are much more fun? I don't think many trains will be running at Rowan Town in the near future! :)
That completes today's round-up on the recent Railway Modellers Club activity that caught our eye. We'll be back in a few days time with more must-see posts!
Have a good one… and of course…
Keep On Shunting
