New OO Bunting & Flower Pots Plus O Gauge Laser Cut Bus Shelter Kit

What's new in OO gauge this week?

We've been really busy at our Truro HQ this week working on a number of new product lines. As it's the Queen's 70th Jubilee in a couple of weeks we thought we should create something to help us celebrate this momentous occasion in miniature. Nothing says jubilee more than bunting, so we tackled the challenge of creating OO scale bunting head on and it worked a treat!

With a bit of tinkering one evening this week in our cad software and photoshop, we had the basics of the bunting drawn up and we also learned the proper meaning of “festooned”… it means “to adorn with chains or garlands”… so that's what the bunting that hangs in droops or loops is called! A few test cuts and tweaks later and we had a couple of products perfect for getting your layout ready for the 70th Jubilee!

AX180-OO & AX180 Union Jack Bunting in OO / 1:76 Scale

Our laser cut bunting is available in two formats… Straight Bunting (AX180-OO). This is great for stringing between buildings, telegraph poles, along fences and along the guttering on model houses, shops & pubs on your layout.

For those that prefer a “festooned” version of the bunting to string along a fence, along the valance of a platform shelter or building, the AX181-OO Festooned Union Jack Bunting is just the thing. Both packs are really easy to work with and being laser-cut from high quality paper, they can be glued into place with a tiny drop of Roket Card Glue, Laser Cut Kit Glue or similar.

What's new in O gauge this week?

I know I keep saying it, but we really need to do more in O gauge! It all comes down to available time though, and I've yet to find more than 24 hours in any day, which is frustrating :) That said, we've had a considerable number of requests from O gauge railway modellers and 1:43 diecast collectors to produce our bus shelters in O scale. So this week, Tina set to work upscaling the LX157 Pre-cast Concrete Bus Shelters. They were actually a pretty easy kit to convert, but rather than being made from laserboard we've had to produce them in 1.5mm plywood as it's the only material we have of a suitable thickness. It's perfect for the job though and once painted, will still have the appearance of a 1970's grey concrete bus shelter.

So if you're modelling in O scale and your layout is based in the 1970s onwards (they may have been around before then actually but I can only remember them from my childhood, growing up in the ‘70s) they could be right up your street! And they’re available in all three major scales too.
