Our G.T.C. Engineering Works low relief OO gauge / 1:76 scale industrial building makes an ideal backdrop for any layout set in the early 20th century right up until the present day. Based on a real life protoype in Loughborough, Leicestershire, originally housing an engineering company that serviced the textile industry.
The building features large 18 pane windows allowing plenty of light into the building, along with unusual, heavily weathered Flemish Garden Wall Bond brickwork and lightly pre-weathered roof slates, soil stack & downspouts. The side wall also features a weathered ghost sign for G.T.C. Engineering.
If you're considering adding lighting to the building, we've also included a complete set of white painted interior wall, ceiling and wooden floor wraps allowing you to detail the interior to your liking.
The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly with no additional painting or weathering required on the main components for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack. Only the windows, doors, guttering & downspouts are supplied unpainted so you can choose your own colour scheme for those.
The window & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are packed with detail including engraved planks, door handle & opening window effect. These will require painting with acrylic paints prior to assembly or colouring with suitable markers. We used a Plastikote cream colour for our test build which we then weathered lightly with an 8B artists pencil, smudging it with a fingertip.
There's also plenty of scope for customisation too... with the slates being applied in individual strips it's easy to build it in either pristine or derelict condition (or anywhere in between). And with care, you can also pose the doors open or closed.
Key Features:
- Fully weathered photo-realistic brick walls & roof slates - main structure requires no painting to acheive a realistically better finish
- Doors can be posed open or closed
- MDF & Laserboard pre-cut components to simplify construction
- Dimensions: W: 223mm x D: 37mm x H: 134mm
