A Slice of Settle & Carlisle

This layout represents a short stretch of the double track main line of the Settle & Carlisle route over the Yorkshire Dales, as it passes through Ribblehead Station.

Isle of Jersey Railway

This layout is a fictional design but is inspired by the harbour at Gorey on the east coast of the Channel Island of Jersey. Although it's a simple track layout, there is a secret return track to the fiddle yard, for extra operational interest.

Clifton Suspension Bridge & Gorge

This is quite a change from a flat baseboard layout. The magnificent Brunel bridge towers way above the River Avon and the deep gorge. The single track hugs the bank, then rounds the curve into a double platform station, before disappearing into the fiddle yard.

Double Track Oval Layout, with Central Operating Position

This layout uses a central operating position. Not only does this give excellent access to all parts of the baseboard, it creates the illusion that the trains actually go somewhere, as it's impossible to see all of the layout at once.

Traditional Oval Layout

This is a classic starter layout. It is based on the PECO Setrack Starter, with a few added track pieces to give a little extra operational capacity.

An Extended Oval Branch

Plan 1 has been extended to add a small industrial area in what was originally just an open scenic section. This could be an oil depot, or for a more period scene, a small gas works or factory yard. Also, in what was the non-scenic area, there is now a small container yard. this could equally be a small steam loco shed or more modern MPD.

Scale: OO Gauge

This is probably one of the simplest track plans, just a small oval with two short sidings.  But, it still gives plenty of operating potential, or an opportunity just to watch the trains go by.
