A laser-cut self-assembly OO Scale Yard / Crossing Gates kit. Based on the real life prototypes at Goathland Station up on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, our LX484-OO Crossing/Yard Gates feature working hinges, giving you the poitential to motorise / automate the gates with the forthcoming Modulus control system (will also work with other control systems).

We wanted to really raise the bar with the detail on these gates, with engraved hinge & bracket overlays, working hinges plus incredibly fine laser engraved square weld-mesh. These will look superb on the entrace to a busy steam era goods yard or on a small crossing.

Bare in mind this is a pack of 1, so if you are planning on putting a gate on each side then add 2 to your basket.

Although I've yet to use the gates, I gave the kit a good inspection upon arrival. I discovered a detailed, well thought out set of parts that when assembled will produce a set of gates that will look superb on any layout. The construction looks to be uncomplicated and should not be a problem for modellers of any skill range. Scale Model Scenery's slogan, " Realistically Better " is spot on and I would recommend this kit to all.

'Up North Gates'

A set of gates that look the part! Clear instructions to guide you through assembly, just take your time. Some parts are small and delicate so, I found the use of a scalpel and fine tweezers the best way to handle them. The wire mesh looks superb. Working hinges are a real bonus. I can see them appearing on many a layout!
