A pack of 2 laser cut & engraved industrial steel type staircases for use with portacabins, shipping containers or as fire escapes. Ideal for detailing a depot, construction site, industrial building or factory.

Supplied unpainted, unassembled kit. You will need tweezers, a sharp craft knife and a fine tipped glue applicator to assemble. Can be painted with spray or brush acrylic paints.

Key Features:
  • Realistic laser engraved tread-plate pattern to the treads and landing.
  • Perfect for any OO / 1:76 / 4mm model railway layout or diorama. Also compatible with 1:87 / HO & 1:72 scale models.
  • Manufactured from 0.8mm eco-friendly laserboard
  • Can be assembled as a left or right handed staircase. There's also the option to leave off the end side railings on the landing so that further staircases could be nested for taller buildings & applications.
  • We recommend painting or priming the strips before cutting as the engraved tread-plate texture is delicate.
  • Dimensions (each staircase): L: 50mm x 14mm x 51mm

This laser-cut steel staircase kit delivers "superb detail" and "very realistic" results for model train layouts. Customers said it's "beautifully made" with "excellent" quality. However, assembly is "fiddly" and "not for a novice"—tweezers are essential. Support legs can be "flimsy" but sturdy once glued. Best suited for experienced modelers seeking fine detail.

I'd just like to say during the making of these steps, nobody was injured or murdered. I on the other hand had to take myself off into a darkened room to recover 🫣
I'm very new to modelling , a lady over retirement age and have decided to help my hubby build his first model train layout, talk about a challenge!
The bug has grabbed me and I'm completely hooked.
But at the end of the day the steps look marvellous, like other the bits I have brought from scalemodelscenery. What a fascinating and captivating craft to learn. Thanks for the hours of fun with this.

Hi Suzy, we're so glad to hear you're enjoying the modelling journey! It's wonderful that these steps have added to the fun and challenge of building your husband's layout. They are challenging, I must admit, but we're so glad to hear you got stuck in and are pleased with the end result. Thanks for sharing your experience, and happy modelling! Justin & The Team

Builds into a very realistic model Verified Purchase

Was able to build one of the staircases with the 3 lowest stairs omitted. Fiddly, but possible.

Not for a novice and tweezers definitely needed! The detail is excellent. My only criticism is that the support legs are a bit flimsy. However when the glue has set and the paint has dried this kit makes a very nice finely detailed model.

Lasercut steel staircase/fire escape.

A bit fiddly to put together but well worth the effort. I used the 2 staircases in the kit to make an L-shaped fire escape. Sprayed with humbrol acrylic. Pleased with the result.

It is high qualty and ends with a good result

As with all of the Scalre Model Scenery products this is beautifully made and easy to put together. With not too much effort I 'kit bashed' it to make a two story 'zig-zag;' staircase for the outside of a factory. I have purchased ove a dozen of their laser cut kits and found them all to be of a high quality and result in a good looking model. Keep up the good work.

Steps

These are lovely little models - extremely fine. I built one on top of the other to give access to an over tracks signal box - with a little help of a scalpel. Once glued they are nice and sturdy
