This row of four terraced houses will fit right in to any town or countryside scene. Based on a short row of houses, not too far from our HQ near Truro, we've captured the essential elements to bring you as realistic a building as possible.
The kit is supplied with a choice of pre-weathered red brick or pointed stone wall textures. It also comes with a host of extra features, such as glazed sash windows with sills, panelled front and back doors, guttering and downpipes and soot stained chimneys.
Both supplied wall finishes are printed onto high quality matt paper. These are pre-weathered, with streaking and algae etc., to give you a realistically better finish straight from the packet. The roof slates are also supplied in strips, cut to length and pre-weathered with lichen and staining, so all you need to do is glue them on to create a super-realistic roof, on both the main building and the rear outhouses.
Each terraced house has a dividing wall separating it from its neighbour, as well as an upper floor & ceiling, giving you extra flexibility when it comes to adding internal lighting. There are no internal wall textures in this kit, however, giving you a completely blank canvas to just do your thing with the interior detailing.
The kit is straightforward to assemble, with paper texture wraps over the MDF shell. This leaves no unsightly joints visible when construction is complete. There are some small, delicate parts in the kit, so tweezers are definitely recommended. The laser cut doors, windows, guttering and downpipes are supplied unpainted and will need painting with acrylic paints prior to assembly. Some of the larger unpainted parts can be easily coloured with a simple permanent marker.
We've rated this kit as Skill Level 3, so not the easiest, but certainly not the hardest and a good example to get to grips with building wrapped-mdf buildings.
