Our backstreet garage is a small yet beautifully detailed, atmospheric & versatile OO gauge / 1:76 scale garage building. Based on a real life prototype up in Liverpool, the building features heavily weathered, stretcher bond brickwork (red brick & painted white finishes included) with wooden concertina sliding doors, corrugated iron roof, glazed windows & downspouts. There's also a choice of signage to add addition detail where required as well as a fully detailed interior walls & floor with inspection pit & oil stains etc.

This is a very straightforward kit to build but does contain a few small parts (namely the windows) which you will need tweezers and a steady hand for. Alternatively, there are extra blanks included to mimic boarded up windows should you wish to go down the more derelict route.

The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly and comes with fully weathered paper wraps and roofing, with no additional painting or weathering required on the main components for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack.

The window & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are packed with detail including engraved planks etc. These will require painting with acrylic paints prior to assembly or colouring with suitable markers. We used a Plastikote matt black for our test build which we then dry brushed with white, red, blue & grey artists acrylics for a more aged look.

The building consists of the main garage and a matching office/facilities building which can be positioned either side of the main building or used separately.

There's also plenty of scope for customisation too... The doors can be posed open, closed or anywhere in between.

Key Features:

  • Fully weathered photo-realistic red brick or white painted brick walls & rusty corrugated iron roof - main structure requires no painting to acheive a realistically better finish
  • Painted white brick interior side wall wraps for additional detail
  • Doors can be posed open or closed
  • MDF & Laserboard pre-cut components to simplify construction
  • Dimensions: L: 90mm x W: 114mm x H: 55mm

Step-by-step instructions are included giving great results for modellers of all ages and abilities. Fully compatible with all model railway brands & buildings.

Model kit praised for realistic weathering and authentic finish. Customers said it's "perfect for layouts" with detailed printed wraps. Assembly is generally easy with clear instructions, though small parts can be fiddly. Some found wooden assembly time-consuming. Excellent value and nostalgic appeal.

Superb Backstreet Garage!

Just what I wanted, a scruffy garage for the edge of Queensbridge! Please note the scene is not quite finished yet, road surface to add and small wall between the garage and the bus depot.

Reminds me of my childhood

Just what I was looking for. I'm from the west country and these buildings are a throwback to my early life. Awesome weathering

Just ideal for my layout Verified Purchase

These models are just amazing. Perfect for my harbour layout. Still a work in progress but delighted so far. My granddaughter helped build the garage and she was very happy to get stuck in. So much more to do but very happy.

Generally easy to assemble and the finished result is realistic thanks to the printed wraps. Be c...

Generally pleased with it. However the very clear instructions fall down on one count. The model used for the instructions has the front door and frames painted black and the detail does not show clearly giving a bit of head scratching. But an enjoyable huild and an atractive finish.

Excellent purchase

The finish is spot on. The completed garage looked authentic and it was more substantial than the card models I have previously purchased.

It's a terrific kit, the addition of shelving and work benches, with a few of the miniature cardboard boxes it is looking really good. Still got to do some of the tyres to go with it too. You'll notice from my heading that the nameboard on the garage has been slightly altered too. Really pleased with it.
