Based on the many derelict barns in fields in every corner of the UK, this versatile Barn / Store kit can be assembled as either a pristine building, derelict, or anywhere in between and has lots of scope for kit-bashing. Supplied with a choice of sliding door, hinged door or solid wall, you can mix and match the components to suit your requirements. Can be used as a farm barn / store, goods store in a small freight yard, derelict building as part of an industrial development / scene... There are so many options for this kit.
Supplied with a choice of weathered Stone & Brick paper wrapped wall finishes, the model features lots of laser cut detail including roof trusses, roof slates & fully detailed sliding door with rollers etc for an incredibly realistic finish.
Updated Version: This kit now includes our pre-weathered roof slates for instant realism!

Again simple to assemble and beautifully detailed
A few fiddly bits for the sliding door runners but overall a fantastic little kit with a very pleasing end result. I particularly liked the overlapping strips of roof slates which, when painted and weathered, look very realistic especially after modifying a few to represent broken or slipped slates. As always the stone wall wraps look great but I'm sure the alternative brick wraps would look equally good.
Let down by roof tiles being the plain un printed type
only grump would be instructions are wordy and could do with more instructive to avoid silly mistakes. but very good when finished.
Excellent detail and design but large profile
I finally decided to place an order for some of the wonderful stuff you produce and I’m not disappointed - all up to expectations and looking forward to choosing more items to add to my (Still in early stages) layout.
Nothing if note
This is a superb kit, goes together easily. My only gripe is, unlike all the other kits so far built, is that unpainted slates are supplied, you need to buy some used and weathered slate strips to make the kit as good as the rest of the range. Otherwise a cracking great kit, which is easy to build and looks good when finished.
Superb kit in every way except one. Unpainted slates are supplied in the kit. I had to buy a separate sheet of weathered slates so that the model matched all the other kits. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. It makes a delightful model.
The front wall paper wrap needs to be longer to wrap round the sides (not, as provided, the sides round the front). Being picky but the join is more visible than it should be
Its very well made, comparatively straight forward to build and it looks just fabulous on the layout!
This little kit goes together extremely well and has big scope, as it was the first time I'd done it I decided on constructing it as a full build in good condition. I added some ridge tiles and an internal door and changed the tiles for ready made weathered.
I like everything about this item. Enjoyed building it. A bit of weathering .Will fit into the farm scene well. I definitely recommend this barn.
My first one of these kits was also my first SMS product. I have since bought many other of their products and amazed at the quality. Now I need another barn to add to that already built.
I used one to depicted a farm storage area with pig pen attached, another will probably be in a run-down condition

It’s straight forward to build and there are enough spares to build a second barn with a bit of imagination. The brick one is the kit, the stone one is scratch built using left over bits.
Excellent kit really easy to build and great fun. Superb quality at a great price.

This barn is an excellent buy. The detail is superb and easy to follow instructions. Plus you get a generous amount of options included. I hope that other builds are as good!
Its small, which lends itself to many different uses from a derelict field barn to a workshop in a busy yard with flexibility on doors a a choice of either stone or brick wraps this is really great kit. Quick to assemble to the basic shape then a bit of time to make the roof depending on the level of dereliction desired! Great product.
