This is quite a complex track plan, but allows for some exciting operation as the trains cross each other on a flat, double-track crossing.

Behind the scenes, the trains can be routed to the scenic section through either of the paths leading to the crossing. There is also a small siding area for additional interest.

Buildings Suggestions

If the setting for this plan is mainly rural, then apart from the tunnel mouths and bridge, there are not many buildings required. However, the layout can also be set in an urban environment, where the trains run in cuttings below a heavily built-up town scene.

Retaining walls can be built up using KX076-OO Low Relief Brick Railway Arches, with houses, shops, roadways and pavements, not to mention all the necessary street furnishings, all selected from our extensive street scene product range.
