A laser-cut kit to build a single Terraced Shop exactly the same as our KX119-OO Terraced Shop kit but with a period shop front design shown in the photo. Our mix and match Terraced Shops enable you to build a unique high street for your layout and can be used as standalone kits, or positioned next to each other to create a terraced row of shops. From Shoe shop to Butchers, Grocers to Ironmongers, we have all you need to create a unique high street. This particular model is for Road / Pavement level use.

The kit is easy to assemble with the shop front, doors & windows being assembled from a series of simple layers. The shop building itself is assembled from laser-cut MDF components with slot & tab construction. Each kit is supplied with both red brick & stone wraps which are pre-weathered, giving a realistically better finish to the completed model, without the use of additional weathering powders etc. 

Also included are pre-weathered, pre-cut roof slates which make finishing and detailing the roof a breeze.

Each shop comes complete with a choice of signage to quickly give your shops a unique finish. There's also plenty of scope for you to go to town and add your own interiors too!

Each kit builds one shop front and is supplied unpainted. For painting we recommend spray or brushed acrylic paints. For the prototype build we sprayed the laserboard sheet with maroon Plastikote spray prior to cutting out the parts and assembling.

LX35-00. Shop building with modern shopfront

LX35-00 with 6mm base) which is a serious error because the 6mm base walls had to manually cut 6mm off to fit the height of Kx066-00 shops. Otherwise an excellent kit. I also cut out window frames into a modern double glazed single bar across the window. Wrap around paper is a brilliant way to hid the dovetails. It needs drainpipes to add. I made chimney pots from plastic rods. Printed shop names far too dark. But I create my own shop names. Roof tiles needs spare rows to add.

As usual no problems with the build, goes together easily, just take your time. Only slight problem, do space the slate rows out well, there is only just enough.

Model quite easy to build. But I also added an interior to the shop, stolen from a damaged much older card model, plus a self built shop counter. It has added that little extra touch to a perfect building.

A great little kit

This kit is well laid out and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The kit was easy to put together and makes into a very sturdy little building that is ripe for detailing. If there is one criticism, it is with the instructions. While there is a clear illustration of all the components laid out, each one clearly labelled with Part Letters; the letters in the instructions do not match! At some point in development the part letters were changed, but not changed in the instructions.

Great addition to your village

Great looking model, some parts are very thin so care is needed in gluing together but the instructions are easy to follow, choose your wrap first and refer to it during assembly . The only criticism is the shop front is free floating, a method of locating would help. Maybe 4 Square pegs with corresponding holes.
