Good product easy to assemble have combine the Baseboard with the leg kit and built a frame work around it to display Metcalf buildings. Would recommend this product.

Yes, another to lengthen what I purchased in the summer of 2025 - that should tell you my views which are this is an excellent product and I can only recommend. Easy to build and comes with sufficient bolts/washers to construct with just the addition of a spot of glue needed (Deluxe Materials Super Phatic recommended). Don't forget the baseboard leg supports too if you are free standing this board - just add the legs of your choice.

These baseboard kits are excellent so much so that this is my third purchase of this version, along with over kits in the range.

Good quality kit that goes together well, after a session of dry-fitting. Having some parts 'handed' meant a little thought was required during assembly - Instructions would probably help. The connection between boards feels a little flimsy, but can easily be beefed up if that's a worry. Otherwise, a nice product at a reasonable price.

A very interesting concept. The kit is easy and quick to assemble and keeping it in the box is a great way to keep the contents safe - and dust free! I am using it for a station (still 'in build') which is long enough for a decent length train.

I have bought several of these diorama bases and they all are particularly well built and fit perfectly. 100% approval

This is the 6th baseboard kit I have had from SMS. If you follow the instructions they go together easily and quickly. I glue them using PVA and clamp components together until the glue has dried. I find the baseboards sufficiently robust for my railway modelling and have sealed this one with Rustins MDF sealer but have yet to paint it - I shall be using spray can matt black. This is the first one I sealed but previously I just painted them. It is unlikely to be the last of these products that I shall buy as the price is competitive and the service prompt. Excellent back up by SMS if needed.

Well made but too small for 00 gauge micro layouts , more suited to 009 or N but still on the small side even for that application, .. The best size to manufacture these, in my view, would be a 1445 x 350 as a starter, as my baseboard measures , this size would place make a good traction depot or small branch line terminus or shunting puzzle, many micro layouts are based of these dimensions or similar… Hope this helps, still a well designed product and with a size increase would be a great alternative to ply, 2x1 and much work…

The baseboard is amazing and I recommend getting it if you want to do a Diorama

Ideal for micro layout and convenient to store using the appropriate Really Useful boxes. Great for me where living in a small flat means space is limited

Really nice robust product, a wee bit of care is needed putting it together but the end product is spot on.

The baseboard kit was packaged well and arrived on time. The laser cut board components are really precisely cut and all of the components went together really smoothly. The dry fit helped to understand the different options for the assembly and the jointing system for the baseboards works really well. Thanks to all the team responsible at Scale Model Scenery

The product is great but the diorama board isn't as high as the main board so it would help if they matched as I had to raise the track bed to align the track

I found the tabs very difficult to slot into the holes of adjacent parts to the extent that some deformed trying to assemble them. It seems that the tolerances are too tight.

Ideal for a space-saving layout. Fits together with minimal tools and is very light. Can be stored in a suitable Really Useful Box.

This product is so simple in it's construction but so effective for starting a micro layout.
