A traditional design, wooden framed greenhouse with brick base to add realism & detail to garden scenes on your OO gauge model railway layout or 1:76 scale diorama.

This laserboard & MDF self-assembly kit builds a detailed, traditional greenhouse with wooden frame, glazed windows, posable doors, brick base, concrete floor, guttering and roof ridge detail. Assembly is straightforward with fully detailed photographic instructions included to walk you through the assembly.

The laserboard parts are supplied unpainted so you can use your favourite acrylic paints to colour the main frames as required. The windows are easily glazed prior to assembly using sections of the kits cellophane packaging, and the brick and concrete textures come pre-weathered for a Realistically Better finish. Also included a set of greenhouse staging to sit down one side of the greenhouse, leaving you with plenty of room to add plants, plant pots and further detail to the greenhouse interior as required.

Minimal instructions Verified Purchase

I found the instructions (such as they were) not very good. The pieces forming the sides of the greenhouse are not long enough that the roof panels fit properly, so the roof overhangs on both ends, and it does not look correct. Glazing of each panel, be it the sides, ends or roof panels, is more easily achieved BEFORE assembling the kit, but remember to leave the roof panels vent unglazed below the opening frames. The actual opening vent frames need to be given a slight angle on the highest side for each vent panel to sit neatly. No instructions are included for this detail, nor any help should you wish to have the door slightly open. No guidance was given regarding fitting the structure to the concrete base, which if done as shown means that detail cannot be fitted inside. I left the joining of the concrete floor until the very last, so I could detail plants which were to be inside when everything was assembled. However, the kit does make an interesting model.

A nice kit to build, glazing is a bit of pain to fit, if you're painting the frame don't forget the edges they are visible. the corners could do with being a bit wider, as you end up glueing cellophane to cellophane
