A concrete slabbed pavement card & paper kit for the OO scale modeller with laser cut card base layers, which make construction very easy indeed. This kit will have the appearance of newer, cleaner, lighter grey slabs, and is supplied pre-printed onto high-quality matt Xerox photo paper using our in-house digital press. With painstaking detail and individually hand-weathered 2ft x 2ft concrete paving slabs, complete with cracks, uneven and discoloured slabs, this pavement gives you a very realistic appearance straight from the packet. Easy to build, with sturdy layered card construction, high-resolution paper texture wraps are used to produce some of the most realistic OO/1:76 scale paving available today, with no visible cut card edges once complete. Photographic textures have been used to create every aspect of this paving kit which comes complete with either laser-cut card base layers or plain sheets of cards with a set of templates, enabling you to make approximately 200cm of pavement from one kit. 15 easy-to-assemble, curved corner pieces are also included to allow you to configure the paving to suit virtually any layout. Also included is a complete sheet of weathered paving slabs plus extra kerb stones, plus a huge selection of manholes, drains and aquakerbs too!

Whilst the finished effect is acceptable, there are refinements which could be made to make the kit have more flexibility and usefulness.
My requirement was for a 900mm long continuous pavement strip, but the kit makes this tricky due to it being designed for approximately 260mm strips.
The cutting and butting of both the pavement sheet and the, frankly dreadful and poor quality IMHO, base layer makes alignment more difficult than it needs to be.
To me as an end user, with no knowledge of the actual processes involved, the base layers need to have dovetails at their ends, (over length by one dovetail male and female joint so they can be cut back for anyone doing them to original short lengths), and the prints need a mark to show where to cut them to maintain uniformity.
I realise this is not what the kit is intended for, but maybe a bit of out of the box thinking might garner a few more customers?

Whilst I do very much like the laser cut footpaths that SMS sell, I was not confident that I could paint them and get realistic looking markings, shade variations, etc. By way of contrast, these printed footpath paving stones have everything I wanted to make realistic weathered looking footpaths. Excellent product!

Drainpipes

I have had a play with my models tonight, and I am delighted with the result of adding the drainpipes to the two buildings in the photos. The first photo shows the two buildings with their new drainpipes, and I am very pleased with them. The second photo shows the front of the shop, although not a very good photo it does show the interior I have added which was removed from one of the damaged buildings it has replaced. I will be ordering more drainpipes when I have worked out how many I will need, with a few spares too of course.

Nice looking pavements

These pavements are a good size, the printing looks quite realistic, and the paving stones are easy enough to align when joining lengths together. Looks good in situ. There is a good selection of printed material in the pack, although it would be nice to have a third sheet of printed straight lengths. Not clear what some of the grates are that are included on the printed sheets, but there is a good range of them.

Another great product, so easy to make if you have the laser cut card option, and look great on the layout. The only thing I would say is the colour is a bit 'bluey grey', maybe options of different shades may be a good idea? A very very minor niggle, I still highly recommend the product. As usual great service and fast delivery...thanks
