A laser-cut kit to build this low relief modular temporary site office complex, as often seen on large construction sites, at rail depots & other sites where temporary office space is needed, often used by the likes of Network Rail & large construction contractors etc.
Laser-cut from 4mm MDF with laserboard windows, doors & detailing (including a door handle!), this kit is very easy to build and forms an ultra-low relief modular office block to sit at the back of your layout up against your backscene. The finished model takes up very little room at just 6.4mm deep, so it can be used in the tightest of spaces.
The kit is supplied unpainted, with additional paper wraps included to add detailed reflections to the windows & felt roofing. Windows can also be glazed before backing with the printed paper textures using the cellophane packaging the kit is supplied in. Kit builds one block of 12 offices as shown, but each building division is perforated such that the MDF components can be snapped to make modules of any size from 1 office to the full block of 12.
Construction Tip:
The MDF & Laserboard components of our test build above was sprayed with white primer from a rattle can to give a slightly textured finish to the walls. Masking tape was then applied along the scored "skirt" line along the bottom edge of the building, and a matt grey car spray was then used to add the "skirt" to the building.
Key Features:
- Simple layered construction
- Supplied unassembled & unpainted
- Dimensions: h: 80 x w: 240 x d: 6.4mm (excluding glazing)
- Compatible with all brands of OO / 1:76 scale model railway and diecast models
