The versatile, Ultra-Low Relief KX091-OO Bonded Warehouse will look the part on any era model railway layout or diorama from the early 1900's through to present day. Being just 6mm deep this building gives maximum impact in a very tight space. Modelled on a real-life warehouse on Limehouse Wharf in London, this kit offers you complete versatility as a modeller. Use it in its original form as a warehouse, or customise the interior and use it on a modern layout as executive apartments.

The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly and the fully weathered plain weathered red & blue brick paper wraps mean no additional painting or weathering is required. Additional detailing including finely detailed, glazed windows, wall-mounted hoists, pre-weathered exterior brick textures and optional ghost signs are all included.

Doors & window frames do require painting before the kit is assembled which can be done with solvent or acrylic based paints. We used a simple matt black car spray for our test build which give it them a lovely weathered, industrial feel. For a more modern feel, use a gloss black or grey to represent a renovated building being used as apartments.

Nothing to dislike really some filing required so parts fitted flush but looks great and optional wrap supplied. I did add some extra weathering mostly to cover some mistakes on my pat!

The thing I could not work out was the crane, the black colours on the picture instructions were I thought hard to work out but I got there eventually.

Good in concept but let down by printing on to poor quality card and no proper scoring of apertures. It's a fiddle to put together nicely and small things like increasing the paper weight by 50 grams would made a considerably difference to the final result. A good initial effort but still way behind Metcalf in quality and ease of construction

This was my first attempt at building wrapping and I got the hang of it quite quickly. A very nice model. I would suggest a better last photo on the instructions as positioning of a couple of odd minor parts unclear

I bought two of these and printed a customised banner on the second; the unbranded brick front graphic made this easily possible. The instruction to use the cellophane packaging as window material didn't work well for me so I substituted clear styrene sheet. I liked the fact that there is plenty of spare, alternative printed finishes.

Good but ....

I like the overall appearance of this item in particular the ultra thin thickness. However trying to get the hoist together and working proved beyond my ageing fingers and eyesight as did painting the windows without damaging them. Price point is a little expensive as well. But overall if you get it right it's a nice addition to your background.

Glue for main paper print to main wall

Using black spray for all parts makes the building photo look a bit bleak. Colour suggestions, eg window frames white, window cills grey, doors green, frames black. Not finished yet but cutting out parts hard work. Can you do with fewer nicks holding parts in place. Glue to use would be helpful for gluing main paper to main wall. Looking forward to finishing. Thinking about making depth deeper and putting in 12v LED lighting. Well done, Keith
