A laser-cut kit to builld four, detailed, wall mounted hoists for adding realism to latge warehouses, goods shed & factories on your OO gauge model railway our 1:76 diecast diorama. These hoists are straightforward to build but do contain some very small parts. Suitable for all eras of layout. Although primarily used during the steam era, these hoists can still be seen today as decorative reminders of a buildings history, particularly around Liverpool's Albert Docks for example.

Can be assembled and posed so they sit flat against the wall of your warehouse in either direction, or at any angle in between. A selection of hooks are also included along with a choice of simple or advanced, multi-part pulleys. We recommend using a short length of fishing line between the pulley and hook to represent rope.

The pulleys & jibs are fully detailed to give the hoists a very realistic appearance.

Can be painted with acrylic paints. Supplied unassembled & unpainted.

When you open the envelope its very intimidating but in fact the instructions are great, clear with stage by stage colour photos. It built very well. I suspect you could also mount it inverted and that it would also work with small O gauge warehouses and factories too.

Produces a very useful model which is easily modifiable to fit any age or location

This model is is relatively easy to assemble. There are some fiddly bits, but these can be done with care. If you are unhappy with tiny bits, some of them have simpler versions to use instead - a very nice touch. The instructions aree clear and have helpful hints for assembly. I made mine moveable by not gluing the crane between the 2 wall mounts, but instead used a 0.7mm drill to make holes both in the mounts and the Hoist upright. I glued a piece of wire into each mount and pushed the Hoist upright on to the wire top and bottom, which allows me to rotate the Hoist to any position. You could age the Hoist by putting extra framing between the 2 arms of the hoist (look on-line for photos as to how these are located). All-in-all, a very good little kit.

Hoists for Joists

I am nearing completion of parts of my model and have a number of buildings that would benefit from having such hoists attached. They were reasonably priced, arrived promptly, I had great sommunciations from the supplier and they look great.

Wall mounted crane kit.

It was the effort put into the production of this wall mounted hoist /crane. We (The World Ship Society) have one just alongside our Library/Archive at Chatham Dockyard, so i can see just how spot on your kit is. We have the electric motor casing mounted at ground level below and could be an added piece to complete, but not necessary, just a thought. As always a superb addition to any industrial layout.
