Post & Wire lineside model railway fencing offers a quick, simple & low cost method for detailing your lineside model railway & diorama scenes. In real life, it's a simple way for farmers to keep livestock away from busy railway lines.
Employed all over the UK, for many many years, this easy to install laser cut OO scale kit will look right at home on any model railway layout or diecast diorama. And with real wood fence posts, it looks just the job straight from the packet.
Simple to build, making up to 1 metre of fencing from a single pack. Simply drill a row of 2.5mm holes at approximately 24mm spacing. Glue the posts into place, then thread the included wire through the posts and secure with a little glue. The fence posts and wire can then be easily weathered if required using artists acrylics.

Highly realistic model railway fencing kit that customers praise as "the best fencing kit I've used." Requires patience threading wire through tiny post holes, which gets easier with practice. Posts are well-made, take paint excellently, and look "very realistic" when finished. Wire can kink during installation. Some find it challenging due to eyesight requirements.
Always love building with SMS. This time it was simple fencing kit with posts and wires. The results are cracking and really enjoyed the couple of hours threading the wire through the posts 4 times. I’m about to order another kit to do the next section of scenery. Well done SMS!

Have not got round to using the parts yet, but are well pleased with the possibilities
I think the fencing is good. Unfortunately due to poor eyesight and old age it was too difficult for me. More experienced modellers would be OK with it. Maybe a tool to clear the holes could be provided.
This is the best fencing kit I've used.

Great product which I couldn't find anywhere else. Great service and speedy delivery as per usual.
Although this fencing will test your eye sight and patience the results are well worth it. I’ve used two lots of the fencing kits and I highly recommend.
The product is very good for fencing but I found the etched marks provided to indicate the depth the posts should be inserted cut through one of the ply levels. This resulted in weakening the posts so they could easily break at the etching. Had to reinforce the posts at this point before using.

An excellent way of providing versatile fencing for fields and railway lines. Very realistic when painted; does require all the holes to be cleaned out with a small drill before installing the wires. This is the fourth or fifth kit I have used on my layout.
I bought three packs of this fencing and would highly recommend, although I did have some initial mishaps with my first attempt at installing it. Rather than gluing the posts in place then trying to thread the lowest wire through the holes, I would suggest lacing the wire through the lowest holes and then secure each post in position. No difficulty with the higher wires. Other mishap I experienced was the wire coil kinking, so I would suggest ensuring the coil is kept taut while feeding through the posts, but a good product which I would recommend.

If using for a long run of fencing would recommend assembling on a jig before transferring to layout.
I haven't got round to putting the wires in, but the posts themselves take staining very well and look very neat as well as being easy to plant.
Looks good, can be a tad fiddly getting the wire though posts, found had to keep cutting the wire when it got kinks otherwise posts pulled over and broke.
Have not yet used the product but looks likely that I will order more shortly

Good kit have used these a few times they are abit fiddly when you first use them but with good eyesight they are well worth the effort completing

Great product, easy to assemble on the workbench and then fit to predrilled holes on your board. The posts are well made and line up beautifully to push the wire through 6 or more posts at a time. Once fitted the posts take paint really well and the wire can be painted as needed to remove the shine. Highly recommended

I’ve used this on my first scenic diorama, and love how it looks and how simple it was to put together. The only snag I found (literally) was when the wire kinked either from how the ends are twisted round the coil or how it can tangle itself it caught in the posts as I fitted it. With the right care to avoid the kinks it was fine. Wouldn’t stop me using it again, just plan ahead, I’ll try to find something to spool it from next time!
As realistic as it gets. What is not to love. It's all exactly like a real fence. Drill/ dig a hole, place a post and glue/ concrete in place and then run your wire/ cable through. Love it
Like that it can follow undulations on the scenery. Dislike that it's very fiddly to feed the wire and had to drill some of the holes in the posts. Finished effect is good.

Almost beyond the capacity of my OAP fingers and eyesight but persistence is very worthwhile as the result looks great.
