A versatile workshop / machine shop building suitable for industrial, mining, farm or railway use. The design is typical of many buildings of this type that can still be seen all over the British Isles, with stone walls, slate roof & brick chimney.

The walls are finished in our popular old stone texture, enabling it to fit in with any location or railway region but the kit also comes complete with a set of weathered red brick wraps should you prefer a brick finish.

The kit is supplied with laser-cut parts for ease of assembly and comes with fully weathered paper wraps and roof slates, with no additional painting or weathering required for a "Realistically Better" finish straight from the pack.The windows & doors are supplied laser-cut from our eco-friendly laserboard and are packed with detail.

Doors & window frames require painting before the kit is assembled which can be done with solvent or acrylic based paints. We used a Plastikote Stone colour for our test build which we then dry-brushed with burnt umber, white & slate grey artists acrylics to create a weathered wood look.

There's also plenty of scope for customisation too... with the slates being applied in individual strips it's easy to build it in either pristine or derelict condition (or anywhere in between) .

There's lots of detail on both door types including engraved planks, hinges and locks. The traditional casement style windows can be glazed with the kit packaging if desired. There's also the opportunity to build the kit without the chimney and with a choice of arched or square doors so you can easily customise it to suit your needs.

Step-by-step instructions are included giving great results for modellers of all ages and abilities. Fully compatible with all model railway brands & buildings.

Thoroughly enjoyed making this, Just one little thing. If you plan to light it you need to put a light "break" in due to the gaps in the slates. I would suggest that a you add a false slate ceiling print to paste onto the rafters prior to laying the slates on top

A useful shed

An ideal kit for that extra shed. Goes together well with various options. I did have problems getting sharp edges on the windows with the need to cut and shape the wraps, but overall an enjoyable kit.

Takes model making to a new level

Take your time and work it out as to where and how it fits together, like the windows. The finished building looks great, and there is ample opportunity to add your own customisation. Makes some of my card buildings look very average.

I liked its easy assembly and its realistic texture wraps. I found the 3 part window frames uneccesarily fiddly.

Another great kit, easy to build, but do not rush it. It is not suitable for an 009 loco shed, the doorway is too low and too narrow, the doors in the picture had to be removed and restuck fully open lying against the wall. Only suitable for a small slim loco. I raised the kit by about 6mm to get clearance. As a shed, workshop, absolutely great.
