This layout plan includes a full circle of double tracks, meaning two trains can be run at the same time. By using a third controller (or a suitable DCC system) a loco can also shunt in the goods yard.
There is plenty of space for many different scenes. Depending on where your layout is set, an urban cutting or station can be included, and the four corner spaces can be used for a variety of buildings, from barns to churches to houses and workshops. These areas can also be raised above the baseboard datum, to give a more varied land profile.
Buildings Suggestions
For a rural or countryside layout, a small farm complex or village centre can be modelled in one or more of the corners. A church, surrounded by gravestones (LX394-OO) can be placed on a higher piece of land, with a path leading to a foot crossing over the tracks (LX184-OO or.LX051-OO)
Our modular platform kits ( for example LX383-OO and LX414-OO) can be used to create platforms which extend around the curve, if required.
