Finding the right infrastructure for a quiet country branch line or rural diorama can be a challenge. You don't always need a massive engineering marvel - sometimes, you just need a characterful, small crossing for a country lane, OO9 Branchline, a stream, a ford, a river, or a drainage ditch...

Every element of this kit has been designed with realism in mind. Based on a real life prototype near River Valley & Kingswood in Pentewan, Cornwall, the bridge deck features a highly realistic mixed stone and concrete construction, topped with a textured gravel-effect road surface. Flanking the 42mm wide single-track road are beautifully recreated vintage Tube-Clamp style steel railings, protected by sturdy stone pillars at each end. It captures the exact look and feel of a rural British byway.

To ensure the bridge perfectly matches the regional geology of your layout, the abutments and wing walls are designed to be wrapped in realistic stone paper sheets (a choice of two finishes supplied). You have the freedom to finish them exactly as you see fit, though they are specifically designed to pair seamlessly with Scale Model Scenery TX148-OO and TX220-OO stone paper sheets & should you need to adapt things for your particular layout.

There's also plenty of scope for customisation too... the laserboard railings are easy to paint & detail with low-cost acrylic paints. We used a basic white, with dry-brushed Burnt Umber & Raw Umber to give them a rusted and weathered finish. The stone pillars and edging stones on the bridge deck will also need painting, this can be done using Grey, White & Raw Umber acrylic paints to achieve a realistic stone finish.
